Introduction of Problem :-

Many students commute to college from their homes every day. The time they spend commuting can affect their energy and daily routine. Some students may find their commute long or tiring, while others may find it comfortable. This survey aims to understand students’ experiences and feelings about their commuting time to college. It helps to know how commuting affects their daily college life.

Objective :-

To understand the underlying phenomena of Students’ Commuting Time to College.

Literature Review :

1.Commuting and Student Wellbeing

Cullinan and Flannery (2025) studied how commuting time and living arrangements affect college students’ wellbeing. It found that long commuting time can negatively affect students’ mental wellbeing, especially for female students. The authors suggest that reducing commuting stress can help improve students’ overall wellbeing and college experience.

2. Challenges of Commuter Students

Ruchti et al. (2008) studied the special needs and challenges of commuter students in colleges. It explains that commuter students often face issues like transportation problems, time management, work responsibilities, and limited campus involvement. It also highlights that commuter students usually spend less time on campus and have different support systems compared to residential students.

Data Collection :-

To understand the underlying issue following 5 questions were framed to be Likert Scale.

1. I spend a lot of time commuting to college.

2. My daily commute to college is tiring.

3. I face delays during my commute to college.

4. My commute to college is comfortable.

5. I would like to reduce my commuting time.

A Google form was prepared and our friends from KBS were requested to fill our form which has Linear scale, 1 for Strongly Disagree and 5 for Strongly Agree. The data downloaded in Excel sheet. 100 persons were surveyed. for every question, Mean, Standard Deviation (S.D.), Standard Error (S.E.), t-stat (z) were calculated.
