Introduction:

Hostel life constitutes a significant aspect of student life, influencing academic performance as well as personal and social development. The hostel environment encourages independence, interpersonal interaction, and personality development among students. At the same time, it presents challenges that contribute to students’ adaptability and resilience. This study aims to assess students’ perceptions of hostel life and evaluate its overall impact on their academic and personal growth.

Objective:

To Understand the underlying phenomenon of hostel life plays an important role in student life.

Literature review:

Review 1:

Previous studies indicate that living arrangements significantly influence postgraduate students’ emotional maturity and self-concept, with hostel residents generally demonstrating higher independence and emotional resilience than those living with families. The literature also highlights a positive correlation between emotional maturity and self-concept, suggesting that emotional regulation plays a key role in students’ psychological development

Review 2:

Existing literature on hostel life emphasizes that the quality and adequacy of hostel facilities significantly influence students’ satisfaction, academic engagement, and overall campus experience. Empirical evidence suggests that deficiencies in basic amenities such as drinking water, health services, and internet facilities can negatively affect students’ well-being and perception of institutional effectiveness
