INTRODUCTION:  The Freshers Party at ITM Business School serves as a pivotal event for new students, fostering connections and community spirit. This survey aims to assess attendees’ experiences, focusing on their feelings of welcome, the clarity of event information, and opportunities for social interaction. By evaluating participation and overall organization, we seek to identify areas for improvement and celebrate successes. Understanding these dynamics will help enhance future events, ensuring that new students feel supported and engaged. Ultimately, this research aims to strengthen the sense of belonging within the ITM community.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this research is to evaluate the Freshers Party at ITM Business School by assessing attendees’ perceptions of welcome, clarity of information, ease of making new friends, participation in activities, and overall event organization. LITERATURE REVIEW:

  1. The New Student Orientation Program (POMB)

It significantly aids student adaptation to academic life, improving academic performance. By fostering social integration and providing essential academic and psychological support, it facilitates a smoother transition for new students.

  1. The transition to university is critical for shaping student experiences, with early challenges often impacting retention and engagement. Effective orientation programs and peer support systems can alleviate these issues and foster a sense of belonging. By addressing bureaucratic barriers and enhancing communication, universities can significantly improve the student experience

DATA COLLECTION: To gather relevant data, we developed five survey questions based on a Likert scale. This survey was distributed via Google Forms to the students of ITM, allowing us to capture their opinions and experiences related to online shopping effectively.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

  1. I felt welcomed during the Freshers event.
  2. I received clear information about the Freshers Day.
  3. I was able to easily make new friends.
  4. I actively participate in the activities.
  5. I feel that the event was well organized.

DATA ANALYSIS: Data analysis in this research involves examining both quantitative and qualitative data related to online shopping. We employed statistical methods to interpret the data, identify trends, and validate our hypotheses. Our analysis aims to pinpoint areas for improvement in event organization and social engagement, ultimately informing strategies to enhance future Freshers gatherings and create a more welcoming environment for new students.

CONCLUSION:

The survey results indicate that the Freshers event was successful in creating a welcoming atmosphere and facilitating friendship formation among students. While participants felt well-informed and regarded the event as well-organized, there is room for improvement in promoting active engagement. The moderate level of participation suggests that future events could benefit from enhanced strategies to encourage student involvement. Overall, the findings highlight both strengths and areas for growth in the New Student Orientation Program.

We conclude that:

Q.1: Welcoming Atmosphere: Students felt moderately welcomed during the Freshers event, indicating a positive initial experience.
