Introduction: –

This research report presents findings from a survey of 100 individuals who regularly use local trains. It explores the challenges commuters face during their journeys, such as overcrowding, delays, safety concerns, and accessibility issues. Understanding these challenges is vital for improving the quality of service and enhancing the overall commuting experience for passengers.

Objective: -To understand underlined issues of the problem- Challenges People Experience while Travelling in Local Trains.

Literature Review: –

Local train travel presents numerous challenges including overcrowding, punctuality issues, safety concerns, and accessibility barriers. Overcrowded trains lead to discomfort and safety risks for commuters, while delays and cancellations disrupt routines and productivity. Safety remains a concern due to incidents of theft, harassment, and accidents. Accessibility is also a significant challenge, especially for passengers with disabilities and limited mobility. Understanding and addressing these challenges are crucial for policymakers and transportation authorities to improve service quality and enhance the overall commuting experience for passengers.

Data Collection: –

For above problem we famed 5 questions on Likert scale 1 to 5 where is 1 is strongly disagree and 5 is strongly agree and data is gathered from students of KBS 100 Students were surveyed for each question mean, standard deviation, standard error and T-stat were calculated.

Data Analysis: –

Mean 4.52 4.18 4.01 3.43 3.38
Standard Deviation 0.75 0.85 1.02 1.24 1.09
Standard Error 60.66 49.44 39.32 27.64 31.02
T-stat 0.07 0.08 0.10 0.12 0.11
Result Neutral  Neutral  Neutral  Neutral  Neutral

Since the t-stats provided are very small (less than 1), they are all not statistically significant, and therefore, we cannot conclude whether the result is positive or negative based solely on the t-stats.

Conclusion: –

I had experienced a delay in the local train.

I had witnessed safety concerns in Mumbai local train.

I had observed decline in hygiene and cleanliness in local train.

I had to face theft or pickpocketing while travelling in a local train.

I have faced technical errors while using M-indicator App.
