To meet these challenges, libraries are adopting quality management principles to ensure continuous improvement in their services. Traditionally, library quality was measured by collection size and usage metrics, but this no longer suffices to meet user demands. Instead, the SERVQUAL method is now being used to measure service quality. Quality is fundamental to the library profession, and its pursuit enhances staff image, aids in public relations, and improves marketing efforts.
