TITLE: UNDERSTANDING NEGATIVE IMPACT OF SNAPCHAT ON INDIVIDUALS

INTRODUCTION: This report is about understanding the negative impact of the Snapchat on individuals. The fleeting nature of Snapchat messages encourages impulsive behaviour, risking misunderstandings or sharing regrettable content, harming reputations and relationships. Despite its unique platform, Snapchat’s negative impacts, from beauty norms to strained connections, warrant awareness and a balanced approach in usage. Survey among 100 individuals were conducted to understand the impact the of snapchat on youngsters.

OBJECTIVE: To understand negative impact of snapchat on individuals

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Connection Overload? A Cross Cultural Study of the Consequences of Social Media Connection.

LaRose, Robert et.al (2014) Social media can be good or bad, but we don’t fully understand how it affects us across different platforms and cultures. A study from Ireland, the US, and Korea found that too much online activity can make us feel worse, while managing our online habits can help. Different cultures also play a role, with some people being more protected from negative effects.

A study on Internet addiction and its relation to psychopathology and self-esteem among college students.

Many Indian college students are seriously hooked on the social media, leading to issues like obsessive-compulsion and anxiety. The study didn’t find a big connection between social media addiction and how much people like them. More research is needed to understand and help with the mental health problems caused by too much social media use.

DATA COLLECTION: The survey was done based on these 5 questions this framed to be answered on Likert scale 1 to 5 (Strongly disagree, neutral, strongly agree) Data was collected from individuals. 100% response from the individuals which was surveyed for each question. To see whether the response from each one: we calculated the Mean, standard deviation, standard error and Tstat.

At 95% Confidence Level,

If T stat > 1.96, accept Positively.

If T stat is between 1.96 and -1.96 accept Neutrally.

If T stat < 1.96, accept Negatively.

CONCLUSION:

1] Overuse of snapchat has not given stress to individuals.

2]snapchat overuse has not disturbed individuals sleep.

3]snapchat has not impacted individual’s family time.

4]snapchat has not affected individual’s productivity.

5]Individual is not worried about their privacy on snapchat.
