Bollywood, an Indian Hollywood, refers to the Hindi language movie industry in India. The term Bollywood combines Bombay (where most Hindi movies are made) and Hollywood (where most American movies are made).
Objective : To compare the actors
Literature Review :
1. Decision for watching a movie in the theatre is dependent on various factors such as the actors, story, reviews, ratings by critics and viewers. People may get positively inclined towards watching movies in the theatre having multiple reviews, good star rating by leading critics and viewers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of online ratings by critics and viewers on Bollywood movies performance at the box office. Correlation and regression analysis were applied to understand the impact of ratings on the box office revenue earned by the movie. There is a significant association between the online ratings and box office collection of Bollywood movies while controlling the effect of other independent variables such as the number of screens, star power, distributors, and production budget. The study concluded that there is a significant impact of critic and viewers rating on the box office collection of Bollywood movies.(Girish Taneja and Anu Bala 2022)
2. India has a longstanding reputation for its acclaimed film industry and continues to be by far the world’s largest producer of films. Nevertheless, domestic demand for films appears to be waning as in a number of developed countries with mature film industries. Hence, the econometric analysis in this paper is particularly timely as with demand for films in Indian cinemas falling it is important to identify those factors that make films appealing for Indian audiences. An original dataset is utilised that includes data on all Bollywood films released in India between 2011 and 2015. Account is taken of the potential endogeneity between variables through the use of the generalised method of moments approach. Results are used to demonstrate how the Indian film market can continue to have a significant positive impact on the Indian economy. The discussion highlights appropriate film production company strategies and government policy responses that should be considered to ensure the continued success of the Indian film industry both domestically and in an increasingly competitive international market. Data Collection : For the purpose of this project, 4 Bollywood actors were taken Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aryan and Vicky Kaushal, students are asked to rate the actors from 1 to 10, 50 students rating collected doing survey, one way ANOVA was calculated through data analysis.
Data Analysis :
Calculated one way Anova,
Between group: sum of square(SS)=5.24, Degree of freedom(DF)=3, Mean sum of square(MSS)=1.7467, F=1.833, P-value=0.143, F crit=2.65
Within groups: SS=186.84, DF=196, MSS=0.953
Conclusion : The value of F=1.833 is less than F crit=2.65, therefore the Hypothesis is Null: All are same. Accept H0 and Reject H1.
