TITLE: A Survey To Identify The Most Preferred Shoe Brand Among The Public

Author: Mrigank Yadav- 54

Introduction: This study aims to identify the most preferred shoe brand among the public by comparing popular options such as Adidas, Sparx, Skechers, and Puma. A survey was conducted to collect responses based on individual preferences and ratings.

Objective:

To study how people choose their shoes and see if there is a clear difference in which brands they like most and why.

Literature Review:

1-   A study on footwear buying habits found that comfort, design, and brand reputation are the main things people look for when choosing shoes. Brands like Skechers and Sparx are often preferred because they are reliable and comfortable for daily use. The research also showed that younger buyers enjoy trying out trendy and stylish options from Adidas and Puma.

2-     Research on shoe preferences among students showed that price, brand name, and social trends have a huge impact on their buying decisions. The study found a growing interest in sporty fashion (athleisure), while traditional, affordable brands continue to be popular for their value. Statistical tools like ANOVA were applied to find out the major differences in brand preferences.

Data Collection:

To gather information for this study, a survey was distributed using Google Forms. The goal was to find out which shoe brands, such as Adidas, Sparx, Skechers, and Puma, are most popular among the public. We used statistical methods like ANOVA to analyze the responses and identify clear patterns in consumer habits. This process helps us understand the current footwear trends and what people value most in a brand.

Data Analysis:

To see if people truly prefer one brand over the others, we conducted a one-way ANOVA test comparing Adidas, Sparx, Skechers, and Puma. According to the summary, Adidas received the highest average rating of mean=8.45 , followed by Puma at mean=7.73. Both Sparx and Skechers received an identical average rating of mean= 7.27.

While the averages look slightly different, the statistical results show that the variation is not very large. The F-value (0.74) is much lower than the F-critical value (2.84). Additionally, the p-value (0.53) is higher than the standard significance level of 0.05. This means there is not enough evidence to say that one brand is significantly more preferred than the others; instead, it suggests that consumers rate these four brands quite similarly.

Conclusion:

Based on the survey results, it can be concluded that there is no major difference in how people rate these four shoe brands. In other words, Adidas, Puma, Sparx, and Skechers are viewed almost equally by the public. While some brands had slightly higher average scores, the statistical data shows that consumers find all of them to be good options, and no single brand is clearly more preferred over the others.
