Introduction

Understanding students’ perceptions is essential for improving academic quality and campus experiences. Students’ opinions help institutions evaluate existing systems and identify areas that require improvement. This study focuses on analysing students’ responses to selected academic and institutional factors. Using statistical tools, the research examines whether students accept, reject, or remain neutral toward these factors. The findings aim to provide insights that can support better decision-making by educational institutions.

Objective

  • To understand the underlying phenomena of students’ perceptions regarding selected academic and campus-related factors.

Literature Review

  1. Kotler & Fox (1995) stated that student satisfaction is a critical indicator of institutional effectiveness and directly impacts academic reputation and enrollment decisions.
  2. Tinto (2012) emphasised that students’ perceptions of academic support and institutional environment play a vital role in engagement, retention, and overall learning outcomes.

Data Collection

To understand the underlying phenomena of the problem, five questions were framed using a Likert scale.

Likert Scale Questions

  1. Q1: I am satisfied with the overall academic environment of the college.
  2. Q2: The faculty provides adequate academic support to students.
  3. Q3: The curriculum meets current industry requirements.
  4. Q4: College infrastructure supports effective learning.
  5. Q5: Overall, I am satisfied with my experience at the institution.

Students of ITM College were surveyed using a Google Form designed on a linear (Likert) scale. A total of 100 students participated in the survey. For each question, Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error, and t-statistics were calculated to analyse students’ responses.
