Objectives of this study
To study the relationship between the equity price of Seamec Ltd and the selected market variable and to observe the significance of the regression results.
Data collection
The historical data of Muthoot finance company and nifty 50 index data was downloaded from the website from the period 1/12/24 to 30/11/25. The data was processed and regression analysis was performed using Excel.
Data analysis
The intercept = a = -5447.7686
Coeffecient = -bx = 0.3244x
a + bx = -5447.7686 + .03244x
The above equation explains the relationship between the market variable and the equity price of Seamec Ltd. The positive coefficient indicates that an increase in the market variable leads to an increase in the equity price of Seamec Ltd. Specifically, if the independent variable increases by 1 unit, the equity price of Seamec Ltd increases by 0.3244 units, keeping other factors constant.
The high t-statistic of -3.6584 and low p-value which is 0.0006511 indicate that the beta coefficient is statistically significant at the 1% level, showing a meaningful impact of the independent variable on Seamec Ltd’s equity price. The R² value of 0.2254 implies that 22.54% of the variation in Seamec Ltd’s equity price is explained by the model, while the remaining 77.46% is due to other factors not included. Additionally, the statistically significant F-value 13.3844 confirms that the overall regression model is reliable and fit for analysis.
No of observations = 48
R2 = 0.2254
F – value = 13.3844
P value significance = 0.0006511

Literature Review
Sharma (2021) describes how Seamec Ltd has structured its offshore marine services operations, highlighting the organisation of its fleet and diving support systems to efficiently manage both short-term charter contracts and long-term vessel deployment strategies.
Conclusion
Since Seamec Ltd’s beta -0.0473 is positive but moderate, its equity is less volatile than the overall market and is influenced more by industry-specific and operational factors. Hence, the stock may be considered suitable for long-term investment, subject to risks related to the offshore oil and gas sector.
