The Intersection of Fashion, Immersive Technology, and Sustainability
Lyndsay & Cross et al, 2023.explores how immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and 3D visualization intersect with sustainability efforts in the fashion industry. The study examines trends, potential benefits, and challenges associated with using digital tools to promote eco-friendly practices. Immersive technologies have the potential to transform the fashion industry toward greater sustainability, but challenges like high costs, technical skills, and consumer behaviour need to be addressed. The paper suggests that digital solutions must be carefully implemented to maximize their environmental benefits.
Circular Economy and Waste in the Fashion Industry
Valentina Jacometti, 2019, The fashion industry is a major contributor to environmental issues due to excessive waste, pollution, and unsustainable production practices. Fast fashion has intensified these problems by increasing clothing consumption and disposability. The European Union is actively addressing these concerns through policies like the Circular Economy Action Plan and Waste Framework Directive. New regulations promote sustainable production, extended producer responsibility, and better waste management. A shift towards circular fashion, emphasizing recycling, reuse, and sustainable materials, is essential. Legal frameworks are evolving to treat waste as a resource, encouraging eco-friendly business models. Collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, and consumers is crucial. The future of fashion must balance economic growth with sustainability to minimize environmental impact.

The data shows that Vedant Fashions Ltd.’s stock price has been on a downward trend, falling from ₹1209.55 (Jan 5, 2024) to ₹961.65 (Feb 2, 2024), with significant declines of -9.3% (Jan 19) and -11.6% (Feb 2). Regression analysis reveals a weak correlation between Vedant’s stock performance and the NIFTY 50 index, with an R² value of 7.13%, indicating that NIFTY 50 movements explain very little of Vedant’s price changes. Additionally, the high p-value (0.94957) suggests that the relationship is not statistically significant. This implies that Vedant Fashions’ stock price is influenced more by company-specific factors rather than overall market trends, making it less predictable based on NIFTY 50 movements. Investors should consider internal business performance, industry-specific trends, and company news when analyzing Vedant’s stock rather than relying on broader market indicators. |
Conclusion:
Vedant Fashions Ltd.’s beta of 0.72 indicates that it is volatile than the market and better suited for long-term investment.
