Introduction:
Women’s safety concerns encompass a range of issues related to physical, emotional, and social well-being. These concerns often stem from experiences of harassment, violence, and discrimination in various settings in public spaces, workplaces, and even within homes. Understanding these issues involves recognizing the societal structures and cultural norms that contribute to fear and vulnerability. Addressing women’s safety requires comprehensive strategies that include legal protections, community awareness, and supportive environments, all aimed at empowering women and fostering a culture of respect and equality.
Objective:
To identify and assess the key safety concerns faced by women in various environments, aiming to gather insights that can inform policies and initiatives to enhance their safety and well-being.
Literature Review:
- According to Muhammad, U. B., Aisha, K., Muhammad, N. (2018), “It was established that safety elements should be kept in mind to achieve safer environment. The research necessitates urban planners and designers to introduce features for women safety, privacy and comfort in the design of public places.
- According to Peter, F., Marjorie, A. B. (2009), “In this large population-based sample, women with recent self-reported safety concerns report receiving fewer recommended gender-specific preventive services.”
