Introduction:
The unemployment rate among graduates in India is 13.4% according to the Government survey of 2022-23. Despite achieving different academic degrees, the graduates are still unemployed. To study the reasons behind this educated unemployment, we want to know the experiences of the graduates.
Objectives:
To understand the underlined issues of reasons of unemployment experienced by the graduates.
Literature Review:
Cardoso and Ferreira (2009) addressed the relationship between unemployment and psychological distress in Dutch. In their study, two results were found. First, the less distressed long-term unemployed graduates were more likely to find a job, whereas the more distressed were more likely to remain unemployed. Second, a general tendency towards a better psychological health was observed, not only in the reemployed group but also among the continuously long-term unemployed.
Schaufeli and Vanyperen (1992) analyzed gross job creation and destruction at the firm which provided them with the systematic information on job dynamics. They found that the rise in the unemployment rate for graduate workers did not result from declining demand for that group of workers, and support is thus not found for the simplistic view that seems to be widespread nowadays, according to which employers would no longer be willing to recruit university graduates, given the inability of the system to provide workers with adequate skills.
Data Collection:
For the above problem, 5 questions were framed to be answered on Likert scale with 1 to 5 points. 100 students from Kohinoor Business School were surveyed & for each question which was coded as 1 to 5, mean, standard deviation, standard error and t-stat was calculated.

Conclusion:
- Students were not rejected as an inexperienced candidate.
- Students had not expected higher packages as a fresher.
- Students had not categorized jobs as high or low status.
- Students did not have less practical knowledge of their domain.
- The qualifications of students were enough for the job.
