Data Collection: –

Data was downloaded from nseindia.com and yahoo finance.com for 01/11/2022 to 31/10/2023 for Nifty as well as for Bharti Airtel. Weekly return of Nifty is termed as “X” and weekly return of NMDC is termed as “Y”. Besides that, a few other things written in this report are taken from other websites and its information is provided in references. All the columns were deleted for both the sheets except date and closing price and the Friday closing price were found for both. Returns for X and Y were calculated, X being Nifty and Y being Bharti Airtel. Finally, data analysis was done.

Data Analysis: –

The regression equation has the form:

Y = a + b*X

Where, Y is the dependent variable,

  X is the independent variable,

  a is the intercept,

  b is the slope.

In our case Bharti Airtel is the dependent variable and Nifty50 is the independent variable.

Intercept, a = 0.166455848

Slope, b = 0.762406924

R Square = 0.284228932

So, the regression equation is given by-

Y (Bharti Airtel) = 0.166+0.762*X (Nifty)

Interpretation:

The above equation shows the relation between Nifty50 and Bharti Airtel.

Return of Airtel is dependent variable and return of Nifty50 is independent variable.

The positive (+) sign means if Nifty50 rises by 1 unit then share price of Airtel will also rise by 0.762 and vice-versa.

 t-stat for b (coefficient of Y) is = 4.320 and the p-value is = 0.00.

No. of Observations are 49.

R square is 0.284 which means 28% of variances are explained by Nifty.

Hence. the standard error is 173% . This is happened due to the variable which are not in the model.

Here F is 18.66345317 and the P value is 0.00 which means overall model is statistically significant .

Conclusion: –

Beta is 0.762407, which is Less than 1, it means Bharti Airtel is good for Long-term investment.
