Introduction
In the digital age, college students are experiencing a cognitive openness and technological revolution in all areas of individual practice. It has become difficult to control the inputs and outputs of a generation raised in the absence of online supervision and its rapid spread among all segments of society. Cyberbullying has become a contemporary issue in most fields due to its role in undermining college students psychological well-being, it investigates a dangerous behavioral phenomenon that has become evident with the advancement of information technology and communication means in recent times. Cyberbullying is defined as “repeated aggressive acts committed by a group or individual using technology to deceive and harass a person by revealing personal or embarrassing information about them and sending it to others or sharing explicit photos of them situations them . Cyberbullying has been associated with various psychological disturbances in college students , such as aggressive behavior, social maladjustment, antisocial behavior, low self-esteem among victims, psychosomatic disorders, decreased sense of psychological security, increased anxiety, emotional instability, social anxiety, and in severe cases, it can be a contributing factor to the onset of severe depression and suicidal behavior. Its spread has consequences that affect individuals’ psychological and academic adaptation, the educational environment, and the psychological and emotional aspects of students, thus impacting society .
Objective
To understand the effect of cyberbullying on college students psychology.
Literature Review
Title-Cyberbullying and its influence on academic, social, and emotional development of college students
Summary-Yehuda Peled(2023).This article tries to explain the effects cyberbullying has on college students. “Cyberbullying involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group that is intended to harm others.” Characteristics like anonymity, accessibility to electronic communication, and rapid audience spread, result in a limitless number of individuals that can be affected by cyberbullying. Mediums to perpetrate cyberbullying are also discussed. 7 types of cyberbullying: flaming, online harassment, cyberstalking, denigration, masquerading, trickery and outing, and exclusion are present. To conclude cyberbullying causes emotional and physiological damage to defenseless victims as well as psychosocial problems including inappropriate behaviors, drinking alcohol, smoking, depression and low commitment to academics
2.Title- The Impact of Cyber Bullying on the Psychological Well-being of University Students: A Study in Universities
Summary-N. Darawsheh(2023)This article puts light on psychological well being of college students due to cyberbullying. Cyberbullying provides perpetrators with a sense of freedom and an escape from punishment, making them more audacious in committing foolish acts against others. There are several types of electronic bullying used by individuals to harm others, like: – Harassment: This involves sending disrespectful, insulting, and offensive messages or writing comments of this nature. – Reputation damage: This entails sending untrue someone picture intention mocking them. – Electronic bullying involves speaking in an insulting manner, with the purpose of enjoying seeing them feel sad. – Identity theft: This involves identity matters. – Deception: When the bully deceives someone to reveal their secrets and then publishes and sends them to others. To conclude, it also mentioned of suggestioneffects and how it should be controlled.
Data Collection: For this problem, we have created 5questions and have surveyed 100 JDBIMS students who have answered on scale of 1 to 5 out of which mean, standard deviation, standard error and z test were calculated.
Data Analysis:
1- I fear to post on social media.
2 I get depressed due to cyberbullying.
3 I get stressed due to offensive DM.
4 My self-esteem was affected by cyberbullying.
5- I feel lonely due to cyberbullying.
After collecting 100 responses on Google form, Mean, SD, SE, were calculated, which are given below:

Conclusion:
The data analysis shows that for all questions, calculated mean values are relatively close to the hypothesised mean of 3.
- For question 1 ,z test was used and the final result was neutral in the case of college students to post online.
- For question 2,,z test was used and the final results were neutral ,college students were neutral towards facing depression due to cyberbullying.
- For question 3,z test was used and the final results were neutral ,the stress in college students due to offensive direct messages was neutral.
- For question no 4z test was used and the final result were neutral,effect on college students self esteem due to cyberbullying was neutral.
- For question no 5,z test was used and the final result was neutral ,the effect on college students feeling alone due to cyberbullying was neutral.
