Employee facing problem

Acas Wales director Gareth Petty said: “With many Welsh businesses struggling in the current climate, this latest report gives us a better understanding of pay rates and conditions. “The majority of those who responded to the survey were from the manufacturing sector which we know has been under pressure in Wales in recent months, particularly the automotive industry. “Acas Wales is seeing evidence of pay freezes and minimal increases, which is a trend that may continue in the coming months.”
The survey highlights regional differences with South West Wales having a staff turnover rate in excess of 15% of 50%. This compares to 32.1% in South East Wales and just 11.1% in North and Mid Wales.
As many as 15.7% have absence rates of over 6%. The highest affected region geographically is South East Wales at 21.6%. For South West Wales it is 10.5% and North and Mid Wales 7.1%.
Forget the sunshine, ocean and miles of sand. Florida Department of Commerce Secretary Greg Farmer says Florida’s greatest natural resource is its diverse population.
“Yet we’ve done a miserable job of exploiting it,” Farmer said on Monday in his keynote address to the National Minority and Women Business Enterprise/Equal Employment Opportunity/Contract Compliance Conference that continues through Wednesday. Farmer told about 300 administrators and business owners that minority hiring practices in the private and public sector have improved since he took office three years ago, but are still in need of close attention.
Among his suggestions to bring about change:
“In short, it’s no more business as usual,” he said. Farmer said less than one half of 1 percent of minority firms in Florida have been certified by the state. Partly to blame was the tedious certification paperwork, which was a grueling 24 pages when Farmer took office. Firms had to reapply every year, an unnecessary and time consuming chore, Farmer said.
“I’m not the smartest guy in the world, but I suspect if you’re an African-American in 1992, chances are you are in 1993,” Farmer said.
Farmer also said there should be an honor system allowing a certified minority firm in Broward or Palm Beach County, for instance, to have the right to do business in other counties. There is no such system in place now.
Businesses that take advantage of bidding opportunities by falsely calling themselves minority firms should be charged with a first- degree felony, Farmer said. “[Give them) not just a slap on the wrist, but handcuffs on the wrist,” he said.
Farmer’s speech carried the basic theme of the 12th annual conference: There are many challenges in promoting and monitoring fairness in the hiring of minorities and women. Farmer The conference is geared toward equal employment opportunity administrators and minority and women business enterprise coordinators for large companies and cities across the nation.
Over the next two days minority business coordinators will discuss workforce diversity, contract compliance, middle-management opportunities and leadership skills to teach their peers how to do a better job of opening doors for historically disadvantaged businesses.
Guithele Ruiz, an affirmative action and equal employment officer for the city of Hollywood, said the visibility of minority and women businesses has increased over the past five years. But she agreed with Farmer that more can be done to encourage these businesses to bid for government contracts and to show large businesses how much of an asset these firms can be.

[…]48% of insurance companies surveyed by the Jacobson Group for its Insurance Labor Market Study noted that hiring talent was more difficult this year than the year before. […]in recent years many company leaders in our industry have realized the value in community support, not just to win new customers, but to empower their employees and understand that they work for an employer who cares for their community. Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve noticed even more of an appreciation for our in-person events, and we believe this is something the industry needs to re-energize.
David Turetsky Vice president of compensation consulting at Salary.com ———— “Successful organizations will invest in training their teams on generative AI and other rapidly evolving technologies, proving the power of upskilling to mitigate employee turnover,” David Turetsky, vice president of compensation consulting at Salary.com, said in a statement. Maharashtra Government should take the responsibility of regular salaries, pension and gratuity of employees of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) otherwise 22,000 employees across the state, will start an indefinite strike from March 5, said Laxman Upganlawar, President of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) Sanyukta Sanghatana.

Actual implementation of the schemes was putting upto 17.50 % of actual expenditure into MJP ‘s treasury as E&P charges through which MJP’s expenses towards salary, pension and administrative charges were met out.
Government of Maharashtra is not giving any grant for the salaries, pension or other expenses of MJP employees. Other corporations like Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) or companies formed after decentralisation of Maharashtra State Electricity Board have their own manuals.
But MJP has no separate service manual for employees. Government of Maharashtra is not supporting MJP. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured in writing to the union of MJP employees to look in to the matter with in three month. After 14 months had passed, Government had not taken any decision to accommodate the MJP employees in State Government Service. This is the reason, the joint action committee has taken decision to hold indefinite strike from March 5, Hadke said. Other executive committee members like Gajanan Gatlewar, Adv R.B Sharmale, Nirhikant Thobre, Deepak Dhote, K.J Lad, Vishwas Wankhede and others were also present at the press conference.
