Introduction: During the placement process, students often encounter challenges such as intense competition, limited job opportunities, and high expectations from recruiters, pressure to perform well in interviews, lack of relevant work experience, and uncertainty about the best career path to pursue. Due to intense competition and requirements these days, students are often under pressure during placement periods and face various challenges.
Objective: To understand underling phenomena of The Problems students face during placements
Literature Review:
- Changing Approaches in Campus Placements – A New Futuristic Model (June 29, 2016). Shenoy, Varun and Aithal, P. S
The paper contains the details on this new proposed model and strategy to be followed by the student to get good challenging job offers from reputed international companies and hard and smart work he/she has to perform for his/her sustainability and growth in the organization. The paper also contains advantages, benefits, constraints, and disadvantages of such online student centric placement model.
- The impact of placements on students’ self-efficacy
Edwards, M. (2014) highlights the need for careers practitioners to encourage students to engage in critical self-reflection. The paper suggests that it is important for careers practitioners and researchers to engage in more collaborative projects in order for a fully rounded picture of the relationship between placements and employability to emerge. The paper shows that more research is needed into the relative impact of short- and long-term placements.
Data Collection:
Based on the above problem following questions were asked to the students of Kohinoor Business School
The questions used a Likert scale, with responses ranging from -2 to +2. (-2=Strongly Disagree, -1=Disagree, 0=Neutral, +1=Agree, +2=Strongly Agree)
Q1. I have anxiety while giving interviews?
Q2. I have fear of rejection during placements?
Q3. I don’t have enough experience to impress interviewers?
Q4. I’m not fluent enough in English to pass the interview?
Q5. I find it challenging to prepare for interviews?

Conclusion:
- Students have anxiety while giving interviews.
