COMPARISION OF 4 MUSIC ARTISTS

AUTHOR: BHAVYA SHARMA

INTRODUCTION:

A music artist is a person who creates, performs, or produces music as a profession. Music artists can be singers, songwriters, instrumentalists, composers, or producers. They may work in a variety of musical styles and genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop, classical, jazz, or world music.

They may also collaborate with other musicians, producers, or industry professionals to create new music.

Music artists may be signed to record labels, work as independent artists, or pursue a combination of both. They may tour to promote their music, participate in music festivals, or perform in concerts or other live events.

OBJECTIVE: TO COMPARE THE MUSIC ARTISTS

LITERATURE REVIEW:

1. Female Artists

Women are lacking in numbers in the pop music industry, but they are just as productive as men at turning out hit singles. Perhaps this can help to justify backing/investing in female artists and bands with some or all female members. (Strachan, 2014)

2. Music Piracy’s Impact

It is based on an assumption that music artists are time inconsistent and, as a consequence, either (i) overly discount how much they will care about piracy on their future utility and choices (for naïve artists) or (ii) see piracy as constraining poor choices their future selves might make (for sophisticated artists). Either way, and including when publishers mediate those choices to some degree, the prediction of this model is that piracy will, up to a point, not harm the entry and supply of quality music and hence, will not have the welfare costs commonly associated with it. (Gans, 2014)

DATA COLLECTION:
For the purpose of this project 4 Music Artists were taken. Students of the class was told to grade these music artists between 1-10. Then, One Way ANOVA was carried out.

DATA ANALYSIS:

ANOVA TABLE

Source of Variation SS DF MSS F F-Crit
Between groups 111.367 3 37.1222 10.7924 2.6828
Within groups 399 116 3.4397
TOTAL 510.367 119

Above is the ANOVA table which tells us the variance between group and within group.
SS stands for sum of square, MSS stands for mean sum of square and DF stands for degree of freedom.
Calculated F = 10.7924
Table F0.05, 3DF, 116DF = 2.6828
As calculated F is more than Table F, reject H0 and accept H1.

CONCLUSION:
H1: Any one of them is different.
