Significance/ Relationship of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd with Nifty

Introduction:
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing corporation headquartered in Ludhiana. It was established in 1945 as Mahindra & Mohammed and later renamed as Mahindra & Mahindra. Part of the Mahindra Group, M&M is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers by production in India.
Objective:
To calculate the Beta of Mahindra & Mahindra LMT & find the Relationship of Mahindra & Mahindra LMT with NIFTY
Literature Review:
1. Business Strategy & Growth of Mahindra & Mahindra
According to this article, M&M initially went through its share of learning and grew through pragmatic and, orchestrated entrepreneurial risk. The group made a very successful transition from a proprietorship model to a professionally managed group. It is found that rapid growth has been possible through innovation led collaboration. Various strategies adopted by the group from time to time have practical implications for Indian economy.
2. Building a culture of co-creation at Mahindra
According to this article, the co-creation paradigm of value creation was applied step by step in the quality function across the five operating sites of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, a subsidiary of the conglomerate Mahindra Group. By enlisting employees and a range of other stakeholders the firm was able to greatly improve product quality. The success of the initial program caused executives in other units of the firm to become co-creation of value process champions.

Data was collected from Yahoo site from 1st April, 2022 to 31th March, 2023.
Data Analysis:

R2 = 0.13
F = 7.24
Significance = 0.009
Mahindra Returns = 0.7546
Nifty Returns = 0.592
Conclusion:
The above equation shows the relationship between Y and X. Positive sign means there is a
direct relationship, which means X and Y are both rising simultaneously. Figure in the
bracket is T-stats for b it is more than the table value. R2 is 13% of Y is explained by X. F is
7.24. The beta is 0.59 which means it is less than one and is good for long term
investment.
