Smoking habits among youth.

Introduction: Smoking is a serious public health issue that affects people of all ages, but it is especially prevalent among youth. Despite the known health risks of smoking, many young people continue to take up the habit. In fact, smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and disease worldwide, and it is responsible for more than 7 million deaths every year. The negative health consequences of smoking can start immediately after just a few puffs and continue throughout a person’s life. It is important to understand the factors that contribute to smoking habits among youth, to develop effective interventions to reduce the prevalence of smoking and improve the health of young people.
Objective: To determine the prevalence, influence, and effectiveness of interventions about smoking among youth.
Data Collection:
The following 5 Qs. were framed on a Likert scale on a scale of 1-5 where 1 is for Strongly Disagree and 5 is for Strongly Agree.
Questions are as follows:
1. I believe that my smoking habits are under my control.
2. I am aware of risks and consequences of cigarette smoking.
3. In my view, the main reason for increasing addiction among the youth is popular figures/ elders consuming it.
4. I believe that smoking is the best way to cope with stress/ anxiety.
5. I believe that cigarette addiction is a serious problem.
Data Analysis:
After receiving 100+ responses, we were able to come up with the following analysis:

Conclusion:
It can be concluded that:
1. Youth agree that their smoking habits are under control.
2. Youth agree that they are aware of risks and consequences of cigarette smoking.
3. Youth are neutral about their viewpoint on whether popular figures consuming cigarettes is the main reason of increasing addiction.
4. Youth disagree on the fact that smoking is the best way to cope with anxiety/stress.
5. Youth agree that cigarette addiction is a serious problem.
