Conclusion-

The conclusions made on this study are as follows:
1. This survey shows that due to the poor hygiene facilities provided by the canteen, students fell sick.

2. Using the university’s existing communication tools to inform the university community about healthy canteen options, new menu items, price changes, etc. should be inculcated every now and then.

3. Eating unhygienic food can also cause food poisoning, acidity etc. It is important that the food in the college canteen should be hygienic and healthy

4. This study shows that creating a welcoming environment by keeping the area and furniture around the canteen clean, tidy and inviting would lead to a better health for the students

5. The findings revealed that canteen service quality as perceived by the students is not that satisfactory and they were pretty much disappointed with the unhealthy conditions

6. This study found that providing quality food quality in college canteens has
been a challenge due to many gaps in the present system. However,
strengthening the service quality towards a healthy nutrition promoting setting
can be done by change in planning and implementation processes.

7. From the researcher’s observation and experience some of them have unkept hairs, dirty foot wears, spit and cough without the use of hand kerchief, leave foods open to flies and use dirty water to wash utensil in unhygienic environment. The above condition often leads to food contamination with substances that may result to infection and diseases among the community children. These activities of the canteens call for urgent actions in the community environment
