Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent restrictions imposed by governments worldwide have had profound social and psychological effects, particularly for young adults. This study used longitudinal data to characterise effects on mental health and behaviour in a Indian student sample depression and anxiety symptoms, wellbeing and loneliness. Self-report data was collected from 72 people(under ‘lockdown’ conditions). Longitudinal analyses showed a significant rise in depression symptoms and a reduction in wellbeing at lockdown.

Objectives

We aimed to provide an overview of the psychological status and behavioural consequences of the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Data collection:

● Primary Data
● Secondary Data

Data Analysis:

We converted the collected data into an excel sheet, and the result was calculated with the formula: Z=(X-µ)/SE, where µ was taken as ‘0’. (Since the scale was from -2 to 2)
We prepared a Google form, containing the questions, which was sent to college students, the employees of an IT company and to certain other people randomly. A total of 72 people responded to the survey. The options provided on the Likert scale were “Strongly Disagree”, “Disagree”, “Neutral”, “Agree” and “Strongly Agree”

We have done the analysis on the basis of survey and received the following outputs:
