INTRODUCTION:

    The world of an MBA student is a pressure cooker. Between demanding coursework, relentless networking, and the constant drive to excel, the quest for well-being can feel like an afterthought. But what if there were ancient tools, readily available, that could help you manage stress, sharpen your focus, and even boost your academic performance?

 Enter meditation and yoga. These powerful practices, often associated with tranquility and flexibility, offer far more than just relaxation. They hold the potential to supercharge your MBA experience, equipping you with the resilience and focus needed to thrive in this demanding environment.

PROBLEM STATEMENT: Do pursuing MBA program has a adverse effect on well- being of students , and can Yoga and Meditation health to balance it .

OBJECTIVES:

1) Evaluate the current impact of busy MBA schedules on students’ engagement in well-being practices like meditation and yoga.

2) Identify challenges faced by MBA students in integrating stress-relief practices within their demanding schedules.

3) Anticipate future repercussions on the well-being of MBA students due to time constraints for meditation and yoga.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Article 1: Yoga in the Physical World .

The present study aims to observe the effect of Yogic intervention over academic anxiety level among college going students.

Method: A pre- post research study was conducted at a inter college of a developing town of Uttrakhanda. Thirty students were selected through random sampling for the Yogic intervention and were exposed to yogic practice daily for half an hour for 45 days.

Results: The statistical results showed a significant reduction in the academic anxiety level of the subjects.

Conclusions: Academic anxiety is one of the major problems with the young generation facing now days, Yogic intervention was found to reduce the academic anxiety level of the subjects.

Article 2: Exploring Yoga Behaviors among College Students Based on the Multi-Theory Model (MTM) of Health Behavior Change

 A study involving 79 college students focused on Vinyasa Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation revealed that perceived stress is a significant obstacle to well-being and academic success. The advantages of yoga included improved physical performance, reduced stress, self-acceptance, enhanced well-being, and improved coping. Disadvantages included time commitment, lack of motivation, and competing interests. Building behavioral confidence involved learning through small steps and modifications. Support in the physical environment came from practicing at home or at a yoga studio. Directing negative emotions into purposes helped maintain the practice, and sustained commitment relied on social support from family, friends, and instructors. The findings have implications for survey tool development and behavior-change interventions in college students.

DATA COLLECTION:

Firstly, we carried out a survey at our ITM campus about challenges faced by them in integrating meditation and yoga on daily basis We carried out this survey on google forms. The following statements were stated into the google forms circulated by us.

1) 1 Engaging in meditation and yoga is challenging for me due to the demanding nature of my MBA studies.

2) 2 The workload of my MBA program leaves me with limited time to prioritize activities like meditation and yoga.

3) 3 The culture within my MBA program does not prioritize or encourage activities like meditation and yoga.

4) 4 Time constraints hinder my ability to incorporate meditation and yoga for improved well-being.

5) 5 I often feel that taking time for meditation and yoga might negatively impact my academic performance in the MBA program.

6) We took the reviews of the people by providing them with a linear scale of ‘Strongly Agree’ to ‘Strongly Disagree’.

We got various reviews of the people and got to know that people had various persons has faced challenges in integrating meditation n yoga on daily basis Further we converted the google form responses into the excel file and rated the linear scale from 1 to 5 (Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree) respectively. Thus our stage 1: Collection of data was successfully completed.

CONCLUSION:

Statement 1 – Engaging in meditation and yoga is challenging for me due to the demanding nature of my MBA studies.

For statement 1, as T-stat is 2.66 which is more than 1.96, we accept the alternate hypothesis.

Therefore, it can be concluded that Engaging in meditation and yoga is challenging for MBA students .

Statement 2 – The workload of my MBA program leaves me with limited time to prioritize activities like meditation and yoga.

For statement 2, as T-stat is 0.25 which is between -1.96 and 1.96, we accept the null hypothesis.

 Therefore, it can be concluded that The workload of MBA program does not affect the change in priorities to do meditation and yoga.

 Statement 3 – The culture within my MBA program does not prioritize or encourage activities like meditation and yoga.

For statement 3, as T-stat is -5.55 which is less than -1.96, we accept the alternate hypothesis.

Therefore, we can conclude The culture within my MBA program encourages activities such as meditation and yoga..

Statement 4 – The scarcity of convenient spaces for yoga and meditation near the MBA hostel , makes me less participative.

For statement 4, as T-stat is -3.95 which is less than -1.96, we accept the alternate hypothesis.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the scarcity of convenient spaces for yoga and meditation near the MBA hostel does not make any one less participative.

Statement 5 – I often feel that taking time for meditation and yoga might negatively impact my academic performance in the MBA program.

For statement 5, as T-stat is 2.03 which is more than 1.96, we accept the alternate hypothesis.

From the results it can be concluded that Many of students feel that taking time for meditation and yoga might negatively impact there studies.
