Relationship Of Asian Paint With Nifty50

Introduction :-

Asian Paints is a paint company from India, founded in 1942, that manufactures and sells paints, coatings, products related to home décor, and bath fittings. Located in Mumbai, the company offers waterproofing solutions, interior and exterior wall painting with multiple color selection tools and fulfills your painting requirements. The company was started in a garage in Gaiwadi,Girgoan, Mumbai by four Gujarati Champaklal Choksey, Chimanlal Choksi, Suryakant Dani and Arvind Vaki. They all belong to jain  families, and founded the company in February 1942.

Objectives :-  To Calculate the Beta  & find its Significance

Views & Review :-  The all-time high or the highest price that Asian Paints shares have ever touched was ₹3,590 and this occurred and this occurred on Mon 10 Jan 2022.

  • The highest closing price at which Asian Paints shares have ever closed was ₹3,576.30 recorded recorded on Fri 07 Jan 2022.  Units of ownership in a company can benefit from its profits or losses.  Deposits you make with a bank or a financial institution for a fixed time and at a fixed interest rate. Similar to FDs but with one difference: the interest is reinvested into the principal amount instead of being paid out.

DATA COLLECTION :-  Nifty and Asian paint’s closing price was collected from NSEwebsite .Weekly return of Nifty is termed as “X” and weekly return of Asian paints is termed as “Y”. Besides that, a few other things written in this report are taken from otherwebsites and its information is provided in references.

Data Analysis:-

Equation Y=0.02519+0.1101x

Interpretation :

The above equation shows the relation between Nifty50 and Asianpaints.

Returns of Asian Paints is dependent variables and return of Nifty50 is dependent variables.

Positive sign means if Nifty50 rises by 1 units then the shareprice of Asian paints will also rise by 0.003 and vice versa.

Number of observation are 49.

0.4 is the t-stat for Y,the p-value for which is 0.68.

R square is 0.003 which means 3% of variances in Asian paints are explained by Nifty .

F is 0.16, p-value for this is 0.68 which means model is statistically significant at  4.25%level .

Conclusion :- Beta is 0.02 which is less than 1 , it means that Asian paintbis good for long term investment.
