A Study on the impact of rising tomato prices on the family.

Introduction
Due to sudden price hikes in tomato most of the family facing the problems of increase in food expenses, which is making it challenging to manage the household budget. Because of that poor people are not able to afford the tomatoes. Many of the people are using substitute of tomatoes (Ex. Tamarind, Olive and amla.) which is affecting taste of food.
Tomatoes are basic ingredient in many cuisines, and price increases can contribute to overall inflation in the food sector, affecting the cost of living for families.
Objective:
To understand underling phenomena of impact of rising tomato prices on the families.
Literature Review:
The reason behind the price hike of tomatoes is not because of shortage of supply but the main reason behind this is climate change. Due to sudden climate change the supply of tomato is disrupted. Because of heatwaves arriving early and lasting longer and extreme rainfall damaging crops and the supply of tomatoes get disrupted.
Data Collection:
To collect the data we prepared a sheet of 5 questions on it and created a table to collect the responses of students we personally approached 100 students and collected their responses. The questions were based on what kind of problems there family are facing due to current rise in prices of tomato. With the help of likert scale where we evaluate the responses of the student from (-2) to (+2), Where (-2 = Strongly Disagree, -1 = Disagree, 0 = Neutral, +1 = Agree, +2 = Strongly Agree).

- Our kitchen expenses have increased?
- My family budget got affected due to the hike in tomato price?
- My family can’t afford tomatoes?
- My family is looking for substitute to tomato?
- My family is avoiding use of tomato?
