On August 01, 2016, The Mumbai industrial court has ruled that sun pharmaceuticals industries following unfair labor practices by not giving the salaries of 86 sales promotion employees since May because they were protesting against the planned changes in service conditions. In an interim order on July 29, 2016 the court gave the verdict to sun pharmaceuticals to pay the stalled salary of the staff and also directed the company not to terminate the employees without following due procedure of law. The court also dismissed the petition filed by the union representing the staffer who wanted total salary with 18% interest because salary not been paid on time. Sun pharma didn’t answer to the question sent by ET because case is under trial. According to federation of medical and sales representatives association of India sun pharmaceuticals afflicted the 86 employees by not paying them salaries and compensation. The employees whose salaries are stalled are from Stan care division which sells storvas brand as the part of range of cardiovascular drugs and this division consists of around 140 staffers. The union protested against issues of service changes proposed by the company.
