It can affect confidence, communication, and overall effectiveness, making it a significant area of study in personal and professional development. This research, based on a survey of 100 participants, aims to explore the causes, impact, and coping strategies related to stage fear<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To understand the underlying phenomenon of <strong>Stage Fear<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Literature Review:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Psychological interventions for the fear of public speaking-A meta- analysis.<\/p>\n<p>This meta-analysis( by Robin M.F.Kenter et al,) of 30 randomized controlled trials confirms that psychological interventions\u2014primarily cognitive and behavioral\u2014are highly effective at reducing the Fear of Public Speaking (FoPS). With an overall moderate-to-large effect size these treatments not only alleviate the immediate anxiety of speaking but also provide a &#8220;spillover&#8221; benefit by reducing generalized social anxiety. A key finding of the study is the presence of a &#8220;sleeper effect,&#8221; where participants continued to improve after the treatment ended, leading to an even larger effect size at follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>The research also highlights that technology-assisted delivery, such as internet-based therapy, is just as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions. While patients reported significant mental and emotional relief, these self-reported improvements were generally larger than the changes seen in physical or behavioral symptoms (like heart rate). The usual teeth chattering, feet trembling happen every time we stand up to make a speech. For the non-native speakers this fear is responsible to aggravate their already shaky performance.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of reasons behind the fear of formal speech presentation. The article will explore the reasons of this fear and suggest experimented solutions from the real class room situations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Data collection:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To understand the underlying issues of\u00a0<strong>Stage Fear<\/strong>\u00a0following five questions were formed to be answered on likert scale.<\/p>\n<p>1) I experience nervousness when speaking on stage<\/p>\n<p>2) I always make mistakes while performing on stage<\/p>\n<p>3) It\u2019s difficult to make eye contact with audience on stage<\/p>\n<p>4) Regular practice helps reduce stage fear<\/p>\n<p>5) I refuse opportunities to perform on stage<\/p>\n<p>A google form was prepared and our friends from KBS were requested to fill the form which had linear scale 1 for strongly disagree and 5 for strongly agree.
