Introduction<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The film industry is one of the most influential sectors of the entertainment industry, playing a significant role in shaping culture, preferences, and consumer behaviour. Movies are produced across various genres such as Comedy, Crime, Romantic, and Thriller, each catering to different audience interests. Understanding audience preference across film genres helps filmmakers and producers design content that aligns with viewer expectations and market demand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The objective of this study is to analyse and compare audience preferences across different film genres, namely Comedy, Crime, Romantic, and Thriller, using statistical tools to identify whether significant differences exist among these genres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Literature Review<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Previous studies suggest that audience preferences vary significantly based on film genre, storytelling style, and emotional engagement. Comedy films are generally preferred for entertainment and stress relief, while crime and thriller genres attract audiences interested in suspense and realism. Romantic films appeal to viewers seeking emotional connection and narrative depth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Research also highlights that genre preference is influenced by factors such as age, cultural background, and exposure to media. Statistical techniques such as ANOVA have been widely used in past research to compare audience responses across multiple categories and determine significant variations in preferences.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Data collection:<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0To understand audience preferences among different film genres, ratings were collected on a scale ranging from 1 to 10. A total of 40 respondents participated in the survey. The collected data were organized genre-wise and analysed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) to examine differences in audience ratings across film genres.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>IF P VALUE OF F IS 0.197318,<\/span> Since the calculated p-value is greater than the significance level of 0.05, the null hypothesis (H\u2080) is accepted. This indicates that there is no significant difference in audience preference among the selected film genres. Hence, audience ratings across Comedy, Crime, Romantic, and Thriller genres do not differ significantly based on the collected sample data.<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n
