Introduction:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0Hostel life constitutes a significant aspect of student life, influencing academic performance as well as personal and social development. The hostel environment encourages independence, interpersonal interaction, and personality development among students. At the same time, it presents challenges that contribute to students\u2019 adaptability and resilience. This study aims to assess students\u2019 perceptions of hostel life and evaluate its overall impact on their academic and personal growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previous studies indicate that living arrangements significantly influence postgraduate students\u2019 emotional maturity and self-concept, with hostel residents generally demonstrating higher independence and emotional resilience than those living with families. The literature also highlights a positive correlation between emotional maturity and self-concept, suggesting that emotional regulation plays a key role in students\u2019 psychological development<\/span><\/p>\n

Empirical evidence suggests that deficiencies in basic amenities such as drinking water, health services, and internet facilities can negatively affect students\u2019 well-being and perception of institutional effectiveness <\/span><\/p>\n

Q2. <\/span><\/b>I feel that hostel life helps me become more independent<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Q3. <\/span><\/b>I feel that hostel life improves my friendships and social bonding<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Q4. <\/span><\/b>I feel that hostel life comes with many challenges<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Q5. <\/span><\/b>I feel that hostel life has shaped my personality<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

A Google form was framed with above questions, on 5-point scale and responses where coded as <\/span><\/p>\n

5 for strongly agree, 4 for agree, 3 for neutral, 2 for disagree, and 1 for strongly disagree.<\/span><\/p>\n

Data was downloaded as a excel sheet and for every question Mean, Standard deviation, Standard Error, and T-Stat were calculated.<\/span><\/p>\n
