Introduction<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>Morning lectures are a common feature of college time-tables and are expected to improve discipline, attendance, and academic outcomes. However, many students face difficulty waking up early and remaining attentive during early hours. This study evaluates students\u2019 perception of morning lectures and their impact on academic performance and productivity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Literature Review<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

A Review of Perceived Influence of Lecture Period on Academic Performance<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

The study emphasizes that improving timetable structure is as important as improving teaching methods. Jubril (2022) reported that lecture periods significantly affect academic performance, with morning lectures having a more positive impact on marketing students\u2019 learning outcomes. Overall, morning classes are perceived as more effective, but lecture quality and scheduling practices remain critical factors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Review on Morning Lecture Are better Retained Than Afternoon Ones<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Rokade and Bahetee reported that retention of anatomy lectures was significantly higher in morning lectures compared to afternoon lectures. Afternoon sessions showed greater inattentiveness, though the use of visual and kinesthetic aids improved retention, especially in afternoon classes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Data Collection<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>To understand the underlying issue of effectiveness of morning lecture. A structured questionnaire was prepared with 5 statements on a 5<\/span>\u2011<\/span>point Likert scale (1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree)<\/span><\/p>\n

106 students from ITM were surveyed using Google Forms. <\/span><\/p>\n
