The quality of food, hygiene, variety, quantity, and overall dining experience significantly affect students\u2019 health, satisfaction, and academic performance. A good mess meal experience ensures proper nutrition and comfort, while poor quality food may lead to dissatisfaction and health issues. This study focuses on understanding students\u2019 perception of mess meal experience and identifying areas that require improvement.<br \/>Objective<br \/>To study the problems faced by commuters due to overcrowding in public buses.<\/p>\n<p>Literature Review 1<br \/>Previous studies on hostel food services reveal that food quality, cleanliness, and taste are major factors influencing students\u2019 satisfaction with mess facilities. Researchers have found that poor food quality and unhygienic conditions lead to dissatisfaction, complaints, and irregular eating habits among students.<\/p>\n<p>Literature Review 2:<br \/>Several research studies indicate that lack of menu variety, improper food quantity, and poor service management negatively affect mess meal experience. Regular feedback from students and improvement in food quality have been suggested as effective ways to enhance satisfaction levels.<\/p>\n<p>Data Collection<br \/>To understand the underlying issues related to Mess Meal Experience, a structured questionnaire was designed. The questionnaire consisted of statements framed on a Likert Scale of 1\u20135. The scale was defined as follows:<br \/>5 \u2013 Strongly Agree,<br \/>4 \u2013 Agree,<br \/>3 \u2013 Neutral,<br \/>2 \u2013 Disagree,<br \/>1 \u2013 Strongly Disagree.<br \/>A total of 153 students of ITM were surveyed to collect primary data. The responses obtained were entered into an Excel sheet, and for each question, statistical measures such as Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error, and t-statistic were calculated.<\/p>\n<p>mean 2.97 2.95<br \/>SD 1.09 1.13<br \/>SE 0.24 0.24<br \/>T-Stat -12.6 -12.7<\/p>\n<p>2.99 2.87 3.02<br \/>1.18 1.15 1.11<br \/>0.24 0.23 0.24<br \/>-12.5 -13.1 -12.4<\/p>\n<p>As per the given criteria:<br \/>\u2022 t-statistic between \u20131.96 and +1.96 \u2192 Neutral<br \/>\u2022 t-statistic &gt; +1.96 \u2192 Agree<br \/>\u2022 t-statistic &lt; \u20131.96 \u2192 Disagree<br \/>In the present study, the calculated t-statistic values (\u201312.6, \u201312.7, \u201312.5, \u201313.1, \u201312.4) are less than \u20131.96. Therefore, it is observed that the respondents disagree with the given statements, indicating dissatisfaction with the mess meal experience.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusion<br \/>1. The respondents show dissatisfaction with the overall mess meal experience.<br \/>2. Students are unhappy with factors such as food quality, taste, and service.<br \/>3. The t-statistic values indicate strong disagreement with the statements related to mess meals.<br \/>4. Improvement in food quality, hygiene, and menu variety is required.<br \/>5.
