Introduction:-<\/strong><\/span>
Public buses play an important role in daily commuting for a large number of people. Due to increasing population and limited transport facilities, overcrowding in public buses has become a common problem. Overcrowding causes discomfort, safety risks, and stress for passengers. This study focuses on understanding the issues faced by commuters due to overcrowding in public buses. The findings aim to suggest improvements for a better and safer public transport system.<\/p>\n

To study the problems faced by commuters due to overcrowding in public buses.<\/p>\n

Literature Review 1<\/strong><\/span>
Previous studies on public transport systems highlight that overcrowding in public buses is a major issue in urban areas. Researchers have found that excessive passenger load leads to discomfort, physical fatigue, stress, and reduced travel satisfaction among commuters. Overcrowding also discourages people from using public buses regularly, affecting the overall efficiency of public transport.<\/p>\n

Literature Review 2<\/strong><\/span>
Various research works indicate that limited bus frequency, population growth, and peak-hour travel demand are key reasons for overcrowding in public buses. Studies suggest that overcrowding increases safety risks such as accidents and theft, especially during rush hours. Improving scheduling and increasing the number of buses have been recommended as effective solutions to reduce overcrowding.<\/p>\n

Data Collection<\/strong><\/span>
To Understand the underlying issues of Overcrowding in pubic Busses, Following 5 questions were framed on Liker scale 1-5. Data was quoted as 5- for strongly agree 4- for agree, 3- for neutral, 2- for disagree, 1- for strongly disagree.
100 students of ITM were surveyed and data was downloaded as Excel sheet for each question. Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error, t-stats was calculated. <\/p>\n

As per the given criteria, when the t-statistic value lies between \u20131.96 and +1.96, respondents remain neutral. When the t-statistic value is greater than +1.96, respondents agree with the statement, and when the t-statistic value is less than \u20131.96, respondents disagree with the statement.<\/p>\n

In the present study, the t-statistic values for all the statements are \u20130.80, \u20130.76, \u20130.76, \u20130.71, and \u20130.72. All these values lie between \u20131.96 and +1.96. Therefore, it is observed that the respondents are neutral towards all the statements.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Conclusion:-<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Respondents neither agree nor disagree, showing a neutral view on overcrowding in buses.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Opinions on overcrowding in local transport remain balanced among respondents.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The t-statistic results indicate a neutral perception of overcrowding in buses.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Commuters do not express strong agreement or disagreement with the given statements.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Overall, respondents display a neutral attitude towards overcrowding in public transport.<\/p>\n
