Impacts Of Alcohol Consumption<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Introduction:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Alcohol consumption is a widespread social behaviour with significant cultural, economic, and health implications. While moderate alcohol intake is often associated with socialization and relaxation, excessive or long-term consumption poses serious health risks and societal challenges. Research indicates that alcohol abuse contributes to various health issues, including liver disease, cardiovascular problems, and neurological impairments, while also increasing the likelihood of accidents, violence, and mental health disorders.<\/span><\/p>\n

This study aims to explore the multifaceted impact of alcohol consumption by examining its effects on physical and mental health, social consequences, and economic burdens. By analysing current research and statistical data, this report seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how alcohol consumption affects individuals and society as a whole. The findings will contribute to discussions on public health policies, responsible drinking guidelines, and intervention strategies.<\/span><\/p>\n

To analyse the impact of alcohol consumption with health, social and financial aspects of students and individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Literature Review:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Alcoholic Beverage Consumption and Knowledge of the Impact of Alcohol on Health<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Martyna Wysoki\u0144ska & Aleksandra Ko\u0142ota (2022) stated, previous study highlights that young adult, particularly men, tend to consume alcohol in a risky manner, often motivated by the desire to enhance their mood. Their knowledge of alcohol’s health effects is insufficient, with the internet and personal observations being their main sources of information. The findings emphasize the need for further research and increased educational initiatives to raise awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol. Preventive measures should leverage social media and technology to promote responsible drinking habits, and authorities should regularly monitor alcohol consumption, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, to mitigate long-term health risks\u200b.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reported Cases of Alcohol Consumption and Poisoning<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Taghreed Alhaidan, et al (2022), stated study analyses alcohol consumption and poisoning trends in Hail, Saudi Arabia, from 2015 to 2022, focusing on hospital cases and community drinking habits. Among 550 participants, 400 were hospital patients, primarily young men, who reported severe health issues such as liver dysfunction, renal impairment, and pancreatic enzyme abnormalities, with one fatality. Community participants indicated social influences, stress, and curiosity as primary drinking motivations, with frequent consumption leading to blackouts and chronic diseases. Despite Saudi Arabia’s alcohol prohibition, findings reveal its presence and health impact, emphasizing the need for stricter control measures and public awareness campaigns<\/span><\/p>\n

Data Collection:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

For the above problem we framed 5 questions on the Likert Scale and we approached 136 students of KBS and KMS (MMS and PG batch) with google form. With the answers strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree and strongly disagree. They were coded as 5,4,3,2 and 1. So that hypothesised mean is 3. Also, for each question mean, standard deviation, standard error and z \u2013 scores were calculated. The questions were as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>I have experienced regret or guilt after consuming alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>I have struggled to focus on work or studies after drinking alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>I have made risky or poor decisions under the influence of alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>I have had arguments or conflicts with family\/friends because of alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>I was influenced by social media and movies to consume alcohol frequently.<\/span><\/p>\n
