Problem Introduction :- <\/b>Instagram has both positive and negative impacts on students. It helps them stay connected, learn, and express creativity, but excessive use can lead to distractions, lower focus on studies, and affect mental health. Finding a balance is key to using Instagram wisely without harming productivity or well-being.<\/p>\n

Objective :- <\/span><\/b>The objective is to understand how Instagram affects students’ studies, social life, and mental well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n

Literature Review :-<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Effects of Instagram on consumption and fashion<\/span><\/p>\n

(Emel Demir Askero\u011flu, 2017) <\/span>Spread of internet usage and developed social media environments started to have an\u00a0impact\u00a0on individuals’ lives along with rapid progress of digital technologies. Moreover, the use of social media is becoming effective in shaping our daily\u00a0life\u00a0and even our culture. As consumption and fashion concepts become important due to usage of\u00a0Instagram. In order to set this out, focus interviews have been conducted with\u00a0Instagram\u00a0users among university\u00a0students\u00a0to show the effect between\u00a0Instagram\u00a0products that are being followed in\u00a0Instagram\u00a0and the\u00a0students’ consumption. The first group is formed of female\u00a0students\u00a0and the second group of male\u00a0students. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Impact of Instagram on Academic Performance<\/p>\n

(Masrom M, 2024) <\/span>This study looks at how excessive Instagram use affects students’ academic performance. Researchers surveyed 285 university students in Malaysia and analyzed the data using two methods: structural equation modeling (SEM) and artificial neural networks (ANN). The study found that students use Instagram excessively mainly for escapism, entertainment, and social gratification (interacting with others). Among these, escapism\u2014using Instagram to escape stress\u2014was the strongest reason for excessive use. The study confirmed that spending too much time on Instagram leads to academic impairment, meaning students struggle with their studies. Interestingly, content gratification (the actual posts and information on Instagram) was not a major factor in excessive use. The research suggests that universities should help students manage their social media use to prevent negative academic effects.<\/span><\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Instagram helps me stay connected with friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n
