Introduction:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Such shifts can be natural, due to changes in the sun\u2019s activity or large volcanic eruptions. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change<\/span>, <\/span>primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas. Being aware of climate change is crucial for several reasons like it enables individuals and communities to understand the potential impacts on their environment, health, and livelihoods. This awareness fosters proactive behavior, encouraging people to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Objective:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

To understand the underlying issue of awareness of climate change among people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Literature Review:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Climate Change is the defining issue of our time, and we are at a defining moment. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly. (United Nations, Global Issue 2024)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is still time to lessen the impacts and severity of climate change. We already know many of the problems and solutions and researchers continue to find new ones. Experts believe we can avoid the worst outcomes by reducing emissions to zero as quickly as possible, which will limit warming. (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Data Collection:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

For the above problem, the following are 5 questions which were framed to be answered on Likert scale with 1 to 5 points. 100 students from ITM Business School Navi Mumbai were surveyed & for each question which was coded as 1 to 5, mean, standard deviation, standard error and t-stat was calculated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q1. I am aware about climate change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q2. I am concerned about climate change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q3. I have taken steps to reduce my carbon footprint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q4. Human activities are major cause of climate change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q5. I am satisfied with government efforts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All Questions are based on Likert scale:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
