The research studies and gauges the impact caused by metro construction in the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective<\/strong>: To understand underlying issue in experience of students due to metro construction.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Literature review: <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Transit Oriented Development and Its Impact on Level of Service of Roads &amp; METRO: A Case Study of Mumbai Metro Line-I<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The study proposes a\u00a0method\u00a0to evaluate the\u00a0proposed transit-oriented development (TOD) impacts\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0new METRO rail project.\u00a0This methodology examines\u00a0the applicability of TOD principles\u00a0in the rapidly developing metropolis of Mumbai, India,\u00a0using vertical\u00a0development.\u00a0The methodology focuses on\u00a0predicting people&#8217;s\u00a0mode choice\u00a0behavior before implementing the proposed TOD.\u00a0In addition, the indirect effects\u00a0of\u00a0TOD, such as economic profitability,\u00a0fuel consumption and\u00a0reduction of driving\u00a0time for\u00a0the\u00a0planned\u00a0year\u00a02036, are evaluated.\u00a0The results\u00a0of this study show that TOD can be an effective tool\u00a0to achieve\u00a0sustainable development in congested metropolitan\u00a0areas in\u00a0developing\u00a0countries, because while the\u00a0density\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0traffic effective area (TIA) increases, road\u00a0congestion\u00a0does not..<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Metro Rail Projects In India: A Study In Project Planning<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This chapter\u00a0deals with\u00a0the development of the metro system in Mumbai.\u00a0It\u00a0talks about\u00a0the various\u00a0stages\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0project from proposal to\u00a0execution.\u00a0A\u00a0project\u00a0is properly planned if\u00a0first a\u00a0general\u00a0plan\u00a0is drawn up\u00a0and then the\u00a0stages are prioritized.\u00a0The need for the project\u00a0is\u00a0very\u00a0clear\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0investment decision was\u00a0made\u00a0based on a proper\u00a0assessment\u00a0of the resource scenario.\u00a0The step-by-step project planning\u00a0process\u00a0was\u00a0closely monitored for\u00a0identification and project\u00a0decision-making.\u00a0While metro projects in other cities\u00a0like\u00a0Kolkata,\u00a0Delhi, Bangalore\u00a0and Chennai were taken up through direct government initiatives and project\u00a0funding depended\u00a0on government initiatives, Mumbai was always\u00a0considered to have\u00a0high ridership\u00a0potential\u00a0in this mega\u00a0city.\u00a0would naturally justify\u00a0participation of the\u00a0private\u00a0sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Data collection<\/strong>: For above all problem, we have gathered data from 100 students studying in Kohinoor Business School who travel daily via public transport using google forms. The questionnaire was prepared on the basis of likert scale.
