Some private are companies have an important role in being congestion in large cities because they provide easy services of two and four-wheeler vehicles.\u00a0 Being traffic congestion on urban\u00a0 or\u00a0 nonurban\u00a0 areas\u00a0 wastage\u00a0 time\u00a0 and\u00a0 energy,\u00a0 increase pollution and stress, reduces production, and thus increase the demand for costs on society as well as\u00a0 the country for\u00a0 spending. Traffic congestion is a major issue in metropolitan cities across the world, including India. According to a report by TomTom Traffic Index, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune saw an average decrease in congestion levels by 18%, 14%, and 29%, respectively, compared to 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Problem Statement: Road traffic congestion in metropolitan cities.<\/p>\n<p>Objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Systematic Review on Urban Road Traffic Congestion.<\/li>\n<li>To know that the public transportation can be an effective solution to reduce traffic congestion in metropolitan cities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Literature review:<\/p>\n<p>Article1: Traffic Congestion in the Metropolitan City of Kolkata.<\/p>\n<p>his is a research article that examines the problem of congestion on the roads of Kolkata, a metropolitan city in India. The article discusses the factors that contribute to congestion, such as rapid urbanisation, high population density, low road space, heterogeneous traffic, and inadequate public transport. It also highlights the negative impacts of congestion, such as air pollution, fuel wastage, and economic losses.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Article2: Study of Traffic Problems in Metro Cities: Review of Pune City.<\/p>\n<p>This is a research paper that analyses the characteristics, trip patterns, and public transport scenarios of Pune, a metropolitan city in India, and identifies the causes and effects of traffic congestion. The paper presents the population growth trends, employment distribution, and vehicle ownership data of Pune and its suburbs, and shows that there is a high preference for personal vehicles over public transport. The paper suggests some possible solutions to improve the traffic situation in Pune, such as giving priority to public transport, promoting walking and non-motorized transport, integrating land use and transport planning, and developing transit-oriented development.<\/p>\n<p>Data Collection: Firstly, we carried out a survey at our itm campus about\u00a0 people perspective about Traffic congesting. We carried out this survey on Google Forms. The following statement were stated into the google form circulated by us.<\/p>\n<p>1)Traffic congestion is a frequent concern in metropolitan cities.<\/p>\n<p>2) Frequently experience in delay in daily commute due to traffic jams.<\/p>\n<p>3) Primarily use a public transport for\u00a0 daily commute in the city.<\/p>\n<p>4) I would support the implementation of stricter traffic regulations to reduce congestion.<\/p>\n<p>5) I am satisfied with\u00a0 the existing public transportation facilities in\u00a0 metropolitan cities.<\/p>\n<p>We got various reviews of the people and got to know that people had various perspectives about the Traffic congestion and protocols. Further we converted the google form responses into the excel file and rated the linear scale from 1 to 5 (Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree) respectively.
