Data Collection:<\/p>\n
Data regarding the equity and nifty of ACC Ltd has been downloaded from nseindia.com. After going in the historical data, the data of 1 year was taken from 1st<\/sup> October 2022 to 30th<\/sup> September 2023.<\/p>\n To simplify the process and see just the information needed the columns were deleted except date and closing rate. A column was added of the weekday in the data sheet and then the returns of equity and nifty were found by using the formula (Current dates price \u2013 Previous Dates price)\/Previous date price * 100.<\/p>\n Further a regression table was formed through which an equation was made.<\/p>\n Weekly returns of Nifty = X<\/p>\n Weekly returns of ACC Ltd. Equity = Y<\/p>\n The standard regression equation is.<\/p>\n Y = a + bx<\/p>\n \u00a0Where, Y is the dependent variable (ACC Ltd.)<\/p>\n \u00a0 X is the independent variable (Nifty)<\/p>\n \u00a0 a is the intercept,<\/p>\n \u00a0 b is the slope.<\/p>\n In case of ACC LTD,<\/p>\n The equation formed is:<\/p>\n Y = (0.42575) +(0.02015) x<\/p>\n Total Observations \u2013 48<\/p>\n F = 0.50323<\/p>\n Significance = 0.455248646<\/p>\n R square = 0.0098<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The above equation shows the relationship between Nifty 50 and ACC Ltd. Return of ACC Ltd. is dependent variable and Return of Nifty 50 is independent variable. Positive sign means if Nifty50 increases ACC Ltd. also increases. If Nifty50 price rises by 1 unit, ACC Ltd. share price will fall by 0.020153036 and vice versa. No of observation are 48. T stat for b is -0.674721161and the P value is 0.503230174, suggest that the slope coefficient (0.020153036) is not statistically significant. R-squared is 0.0098, indicating that only a small percentage (0.098%) of the variability in ACC Ltd. returns is explained by the Nifty returns.
