Asian Paints is India’s largest paints company by market share. It is the holding company of Berger International. The company was started in a garage in Gaiwadi, Girgaon, Mumbai by four Gujarati friends Champaklal Choksey, Chimanlal Choksi, Suryakant Dani and Arvind Vakil. They all belong to Jain families, and founded the company in February 1942.

\nAccording to this article, Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a subject which has gained concern after many multinational corporations formed the term stakeholders, meaning those on whom organization activities have an impact. Firms are increasingly monitoring and evaluating outcomes that are not conventional financial measures as a means to ensure positive public relations and strengthen stakeholders trust. This paper is an attempt to highlight the fundamentals of CSR and specifically discuss a case of Asian Paints Ltd. With regard to CSR compliances, Asian Paints Ltd. aims to be a forerunner of inspiring d\u00e9cor to actively empower customers to create their dream home by painting it in different shades.
\n2.\tIndustrial relations (Union) issues at Asian Paints Ltd.
\nAccording to this article, The Personnel manager of Asian Paints Ltd., Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) factory, found himself in a Catch 22 situation when a Union leader of the manufacturing unit refused to work. The Union leader had been transferred from the Quality Assurance department to the Production department. The case describes the sequence of events and the backdrop in which the aforementioned situation had unfolded. The student will be able to understand the industrial relations\/Union issues in a company and the role of different stakeholders, namely, management, Union, workmen and the government in a conflict scenario. The student will learn the application of principles of natural justice and will be able to evaluate the Industrial Relations (IR) strategy adopted by the organizations to prevent labor unrest at the workplace.
