When people are unable to see\/feel and purchase the product, there is always an element of doubt whether the Product is genuine or not. To understand the customers\u2019 mind-set we formed a set of commonly raised questions in their minds which could determine customer\u2019s opinion on the authenticity of products purchased online<\/p>\n<p>Objectives:<\/p>\n<p>Sub problems \u2013<br \/>\n1. Counterfeit of the branded product<br \/>\n2. E-Commerce Fraud<br \/>\n3. Quality Assurance Check<br \/>\nBelow mentioned are the Questions to be surveyed<br \/>\nWe take<br \/>\nNull Hypothesis \u2013 H0<br \/>\nAlternate Hypothesis \u2013 H1<\/p>\n<p>Questions statements:<br \/>\n1. I am afraid of receiving a counterfeit product from online shopping.<br \/>\nH0: I am afraid of receiving a counterfeit product from online shopping.<br \/>\nH1: I am not afraid of receiving a counterfeit product from online shopping.<\/p>\n<p>2. I faced a problem in returning counterfeit product.<br \/>\nH0: I faced a problem in returning counterfeit product.<br \/>\nH1: I faced no problem in returning counterfeit product.<\/p>\n<p>3. The process of returning counterfeit product is easy.<br \/>\nH0: The process of returning counterfeit product is easy.<br \/>\nH1: The process of returning counterfeit product is not easy.<\/p>\n<p>4. I want E-commerce sites to list only trademarked products.<br \/>\nH0: I want E-commerce sites to list only trademarked products.<br \/>\nH1: I want E-commerce sites to not list trademarked products only<\/p>\n<p>5. Products should be audited regularly<br \/>\nH0: Products should be audited regularly<br \/>\nH1: Products need not be audited regularly<\/p>\n<p>All questions are based on the Likert scale:<br \/>\n\u2022 Strongly Disagree<br \/>\n\u2022 Disagree<br \/>\n\u2022 Neutral<br \/>\n\u2022 Agree<br \/>\n\u2022 Strongly Agree<\/p>\n<p>Data Collections:<br \/>\nWe floated a Google form which Comprised of the Name of the surveyor and the set of questions that were to be answered.<\/p>\n<p>Data Analysis:<\/p>\n<p>SE = SD\/\u221aN<br \/>\nZ = (X-Mu)\/SE<br \/>\nIf Z &gt; 1.96, accept positively<br \/>\nIf Z is between 1.96 and -1.96, people are neutral<br \/>\nIf Z is less than \u2013 1.96 accept negatively<\/p>\n<p>Findings:<br \/>\nBased on the given reference of the z values above we determined the following observations for all the questions of our survey.<\/p>\n<p>Q1: From the computed z value i.e. 4.277, we can see that our sample audience is afraid of receiving counterfeit products while shopping online. We fail to reject null hypothesis in this case.<br \/>\nQ2: From the computed z value i.e. -2.376, we can see that our sample audience did not experience any inconvenience while returning any counterfeit product they might have received when they shopped online. We reject null Hypothesis in this case<br \/>\nQ3: From the computed z value i.e. 2.849, we can see that our sample audience found it easy to return the counterfeit products they might have received while shopping online. We fail to reject null hypothesis in this case.<br \/>\nQ4: From the computed z value i.e. 10.729, we can see that our sample audience strongly agrees with the fact that e-commerce websites should only list trademarked products on their platform. We fail to reject null hypothesis in this case.<br \/>\nQ5: From the computed z value i.e. 31.678, we can see that our sample audience strongly agrees with the fact that e-commerce companies must audit their products regularly in order to prevent delivery of any counterfeit products. We fail to reject null hypothesis in this case.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusion<br \/>\nWith Reference to our survey questions &amp; the overall z-value computed it can be clearly seen that the customers have mixed opinion about receiving counterfeit products where one section of our customers is still anxious about receiving the wrong product, on the other hand people have trust in the return process which the e-commerce platforms have formulated.
