1. Sidharth Malhotra: Why \u2018Shershaah\u2019 matters
\nIt\u2019s been 22 years since Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra was killed in action, fighting for his nation, but ultimately inspiring the Indian army to victory against the Pakistani soldiers and becoming a household name across the country. After the war, Batra, who was just 24 when he succumbed to enemy fire, was posthumously honoured with the Param Vir Chakra.While other successful projects like Brothers and Marjaavaan have given Sidharth scope to go out of his comfort zone, Shershaah does places him in hitherto uncharted territory \u2014 literally \u2014 as the star says it\u2019s the first Indian film to have been shot on Kargil war terrain. With Kiara Advani (who plays Vikram Batra\u2019s fianc\u00e9e) starring alongside him, and Tamil director Vishnuvardhan helming the project, Sidharth is rooting for the biopic to establish him as a performer who can take on any kind of role with \u00e9lan. 2. Ek Villain- A tragic love story of a villain!
\nEvery story has a villain, but this one is a is a little different, as it is a tragic love story of a villain inspired by the South Korean movie \u2018I Saw The Devil\u2019, director Mohit Suri has tried his best to give Indian cinema a push, but turned down the action for Indian audience.The story revolves around three characters \u2013 Guru, a bad boy with a good heart played by Sidharth Malhotra, is a goon working under a local don. Aisha (Shraddha Kapoor), a happy go lucky chirpy girl, who is fighting her own battle with a disease and wants to make as many people happy as she can! And, Rakesh (Ritesh Deshmukh), a psychic serial killer seriously dented on account of being continually nagged by his wife, Aamna Sharif.The real twist comes when Rakesh kills Guru\u2019s pregnant wife Aisha and the revenge that follows keeps the suspense alive.Though the film has many interesting twists and turns, it fails to create the much required interest.Yes, Suri has managed to get the three actors to perform out of their comfort zones.The music by Ankit, Mithoon and the Soch Band is indeed the soul of the film and flows well with its mood.Though Mohit knows his craft well and has tried to do something interesting, the expected magic seems to be missing from the plot.
