INTRODUCTION:
Nepotism is showing favour to family members. In a work situation, family members are hired, promoted and unfairly favoured over other candidates, simply because they’re part of the family. Nepotism is most commonly seen in family run businesses but now it is increasing in public sector too. It is usually associated with corruption in the public sector & misuse of public resources. Nepotism leads to number of negative results: Lower morale, Resentment, Desertion Stunted growth and Overlook potential.

DATA COLLECTION:
To assess the effect of nepotism in present scenario we have conducted sample survey by sending the questioner in objective form to about 150 employees from the different industry. We got good response from the 100 employees and the complete analysis along with format of questioner is attached herewith. Also, we have gone through the online data to find out views made by professionals. Due to pandemic situation we have carried out web-based survey only i.e. have used Google form. Survey was sent to working & retired professionals, through which we have collected their responses. Participation was solicited via Whatsapp & Emails.

Below are the five statements asked during survey:
STATEMENT 1 – I have experienced nepotism at my workplace.
STATEMENT 2 – Nepotism has affected my promotion.
STATEMENT 3 – Nepotism has been a hurdle for my career growth.
STATEMENT 4 – Nepotism has impacted my morale at workplace.
STATEMENT 5 – Policies are required to curb nepotism at my workplace.
Based on above statements, people were asked about their experience as a Strongly agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree & Strongly disagree. Later, these responses were converted to statistics.
