1. INTRODUCTION:

The study involves a survey on Job Vs Business. From many years it is confusion in minds of working class that what is best Job or business. Many employers joins business as they think business has more profit and many businessmen want to have a job as they think it is financially secure. However many people are well satisfied in their jobs and many in their business so there is a curiosity In young generation that what field to choose job or business. Thus the objective of this survey is to determine what people think are the positive and negative sides of job over business.

2. VIEWS AND REVIEWS:

The key to occupational happiness is to first figure out what you’re passionate about and then find a job that matches this passion. – Steve Jobs

N R Narayana Murthy once in a pre-commencement lecture at the New York University told that, “Entrepreneurship, resulting in large-scale job creation, is the only viable mechanism for eradicating poverty in societies” and for this reason he founded Infosys.

3. DATA COLLECTION:

To find out the solution for above issue we surveyed 100 people from college friends working in MNCs, friends who joined business and family member, thus we done a convenience sampling by means of Google form.

Below are the 5 Questions we have framed:

STATEMENT 1: There is more mental pressure in job than in business.
STATEMENT 2: The growth opportunity is more in job in comparison to business.
STATEMENT 3: The profit earned is more in business in comparison to job.
STATEMENT 4: Job is more financially secure than business.
STATEMENT 5: Job is more competitive than business.

These statements were put to the respondents on a Likert scale. Data was coded as:

AGREE +1

NEUTRAL 0

DISAGREE ­1

4. DATA ANALYSIS:

After rectifying the missing entries, data was put into an excel sheet.
Calculation was done by using the following formulae:
MEAN = (ΣX)/N
STANDARD DEVIATION (σ) = √((Σ((X-¯X)^2 ) )/(N))
STANDARD ERROR = σ/√N
Z = (X-0)/(σ/√N)
If z > 1.96, Accepted the statement
If 1.96 < z < -1.96, the statement is neutral
If z < -1.96, Rejected the statement

5. CONCLUSION:

Based on data analysis, we have arrived on the conclusion that:-

People have accepted the following statements:
— The profit earned is more in business in comparison to job.
— Job is more financially secure than business.

People are neutral on the following statement:
–There is more mental pressure in job than in business.

People have rejected the following statement:
— The growth opportunity is more in job in comparison to business.
— Job is more competitive than business.
